Neogen Mycotoxin

Neogen® Mycotoxin Test Kits

Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by molds or fungi in grain while in the field or during storage. Typically triggered by weather extremes, these toxins can cause severe adverse effects on people and livestock who consume them. Neogen® offers the most comprehensive range of test kits to detect aflatoxin, deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisin, ochratoxin, T-2 toxin and zearalenone. Test kits compare samples against known levels of toxin, provide results in minutes, and require only a minimal amount of training and equipment.

Reveal and Reveal SQ

Reveal® and Reveal SQ

(Semi-Quantitative) Lateral flow screening kits for aflatoxin and DON are extremely easy-touse and interpret test strips that screen samples against set thresholds. If Reveal for Aflatoxin detects less than 20 ppb of the mycotoxin in a sample, two lines will form in the test device. If more than 20 ppb is detected, only one line will form. It’s that easy. The AccuScan™ III reader provides an easy method to objectively read, store, and analyse results from Neogen’s Reveal product line. When used with the AccuScan reader, Reveal for Aflatoxin SQ and Reveal for DON SQ provide semi-quantitative results in the range of 0–10 ppb, 10–20 ppb, and more than 20 ppb for aflatoxin and 0–0.5 ppm, 0.5–1 ppm, 1–2 ppm, and more than 2 ppm for DON.

Veratox® and Veratox ST

(Single Test) For natural toxin kits are quantitative microwell tests that compare up to 19 samples at a time against test controls (1 sample at a time for ST). Through the use of a microwell reader, the tests provide accurate sample results in parts per million or parts per billion.

  Veratox® and Veratox ST

Natural toxin kits are screening tests that compare up to 5 samples at a time against a known level of toxin. The tests provide visible results that clearly show whether a sample contains more or less of a toxin than the control provided.

For aflatoxin, ochratoxin and zearalenone are immunoaffinity columns that efficiently clean and concentrate the toxins prior to analysis by HPLC, fluorometric reader, or Neogen’s Veratox® test kits.
