TECTATM B16, Automated Microbiological Detection

TECTA™ B16 – Automated Microbiological Detection

Tecta™ B16 is fully automated and can provide E. Coli, Total Coliform and Fecal Coliforms results in 2-18 hours, depending on the level of contamination. With the integrated networking capabilities, the TECTA™ B16 will provide immediate notification. Results are automatically sent to any device, including computers tablets and smart phone upon detection of bacteria. The principal of operation is a Patented Polymer Partition™ test technology senses fluorescent indicator of enzyme activity of target organism, excludes water sample from optical path for high turbidity resistance.

  • 2 - 18 hour detection with alerting capability (email notification) – increased protection of public health / reduced risk
  • On-site analysis capability means zero transport, zero prep, test on sample day with no delay or interruption
  • Low operating complexity due to automated technology
  • No tedious sample dilutions required to obtain quant result from 1 to 108 CFU/100mL
  • Less chance of cross-contamination or human error during transport or in sample handling (sample preparation, dilutions, etc.)
  • Objective, test report filed or e-mailed for all samples
  • No “call-ins” on evenings / weekends to read test results, receive email immediately upon completion of test sequence - eliminate overtime pay!
  • No human analysis – does not put operators in position of “interpreting their own test results”.
  • High turbidity does not affect the test.

  • Current methods for E.coli, TC, and FC involve enzyme detection through:
  • Shipping water sample to an accredited laboratory
  • Various aseptic manipulations of the water sample
  • Fixed time incubation of 18, 24 or 48 hours
  • Visual interpretation of colour or fluorescence change
  • Manually keeping records of all samples

  • Typical Detection
  • Times
  • <1 CFU in 100 ml detected within 18 hrs.
  • 10^2 CFU in 100 ml detected within 12 hrs.
  • 10^4CFU in 100 ml detected within 8 hrs.
  • 10^6CFU in 100 ml detected within 2-4 hrs.

  • Certificates and Accreditations
  • Wellington, New Zealand - Ministry of Health (MOH) Approval
  • US EPA Approval
    • Is only EPA approved method with “early-alerting” capability, with the fastest time-to-positive of any method
    • Testing has confirmed ENDETEC is more sensitive than any other EPA-approved method
  • Association of Analytical Chemists (AOAC)
  • Ontario, Canada – Ministry of Environment (MOE), Laboratory Services Branch
  • National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), South Korea
