Other facts you may want to know before you choose BioBailer™:
- BioBailers have the same shelf-life, as per non-biodegradeable bailers
- They will perform and feel like a normal bailer
- They weigh the same as normal bailers
- They have a green top/bottom to identify it as a BioBailer
- The plastic is recyclable – this is the optimal form of being environmentally conscious
- Biodegradeable means that it will degrade after going to landfill. This is different from being
recyclable and just degradable
- Time to ‘degrade’ is expected to be about 3-5 years. BUT the issue isn’t the time per se, it is
the fact that it WILL degrade, unlike the normal bailers
- Biodegradation is the only sure method that our overwhelming plastics problem is curtailed. In
theory recycling is a good idea, but only approximately 7 percent of plastics get recycled.
Even that small amount, after a few reuses, will end up in a landfill.
Interesting (yet worrying) facts about plastic:
- 25 billion water bottles are purchased annually in the U.S. Only 20% of water bottles are
recycled
- 46,000 pieces of plastic are floating in every square mile of ocean
- 1 million plastic bags are used every minute world wide
- 40 billion use-and-toss plastic utensils are consumed every year in the U.S alone
- 2,480,000 tons of plastic bottles and jars were disposed of in 2008
- 30 million tons of plastic go in municipal waste per year in the U.S. Only 7% is recycled
Be part of the solution, not the problem!
